5 Must Have Marketing Certifications for 2018

It’s the third week of February and you realize you’ve slacked on your New Year’s resolutions. One of them being, to develop new skills to showcase on your resume to distinguish yourself from other candidates. With summer job postings starting to go live, now is the perfect time to make up for the lost month and develop the skills to land that dream job. Here are some of the free certifications you can earn from completing these marketing courses.

Google Analytics Academy

Learn more in-depth knowledge about Google Analytic tools. Google Analytics is the most widely used web analytics service online. There are free courses offered from Google that range from a beginner level to more advanced level courses. You can work towards getting a Google Analytics certification by passing the Google Analytics assessment.


Inbound Marketing Hubspot Certification

Hubspot offers a wide range of free tools and certifications you can earn by completing their courses. Hubspot offers an inbound marketing course that consists of 12 videos that go over the 4 stages of inbound methodology. At the end of the course, you can earn an inbound marketing certification by completing the assessment.

Duration: ~4.5 Hours


Facebook Blueprint Courses

Facebook offers a wide range of courses through the Facebook Blueprint e-learning site. You can take courses depending on your objectives or Facebook will recommend courses based on your interests. Facebook offers certifications; however, there’s a cost equivalent of $150 USD per exam. The courses offered on Blueprint are not limited to just Facebook, there are also courses on there for Instagram marketing as well.


Email Marketing HubSpot Certification

Hubspot also offers a course on email marketing. This course highlights lifecycle marketing, email design, analytics, segmentation and how to create an email marketing strategy to grow a business. You can also earn a certification upon completion of the assessment.

Google Digital Garage

Google Digital Garage offers 26 courses that range from getting started with content marketing to building your online shop. You choose which courses you want to take, and you can work towards a certification to put on your cover letter/resume.


There are many online courses you can take; however, it’s important to choose something you’re passionate about and to stay committed to completing the course. It helps to dedicate a set number of hours each week to learn these concepts. For example, starting off small with 1 hour each week and increasing the time commitment as you go.
